"Identical in it cèpage to the winery's Rockin' Ted bottling of the same vintage but afforded a slightly shorter stay in barrel, this well-made wine is the marginally more fruity and a tad less spicy of the two. It, too, is a fairly full-bodied wine with plenty of plummy richness, and, while fully ripe, it is nicely balanced with fine-grained tannins lending just the right degree of firmness. A few years of cellaring will certainly not hurt, it is ready to go and is sure to make tasty drinking with flavorful braised beef or lamb dishes without waiting another day."

Appealingly sweet and open-knit, showing very good depth to its black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors. A sun-kissed blend of 39% Mourvèdre, 31% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Petite Sirah, the 2015 Rockin' Ted offers up aromas of sweet cherries, dried herbs and marmalade. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and open-knit, with velvety tannins and a generous core of baked fruit flavors. I'd like to see a bit more energy, but it's my favorite of these reds from Cass Winery.

2014 CAB - 90 points
Showing a red fruited nose, this fruit forward Cabernet has a suave attack and soft mouth feel with flavors of dark red fruit and nuances of tobacco and underbrush. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
2015 Grenache - 90 points
Light red with a red cherry and berry nose. This is a lovely, easy drinking wine with a softly textured palate of light red fruit and a touch of white pepper. Very nice.
2014 MALBEC - 90 points
Medium dark red. This is a bright, fresh Malbec showing notes of blueberry and 19 plum and spice. It’s clean and pure and very flavorful.
2013 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon - 92 points
Showing cassis and mulberry aromas, the velvet smooth palate is layered with dark red fruit and touches of tobacco and earth. The wine is seamless, pure and persistent A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and bits of Malbec and Petit Verdot, aged 22 months in French oak, 40% new.
40% Roussanne; 33% Viognier; 27% Marsanne. As good as the Cass Marsanne and Roussanne might be, neither achieves the same degree of fruity richness and range exhibited by this expressive blend. While it is again geared to full ripeness much like its mates, it is fragrant and floral with a great sense of energy and a wealth of deep, mildly honeyed, melon and peach fruit, and it is surprisingly well-balanced and light on its feet for the very substantial wine that it is.
Glass-staining ruby. Blackberry, cola, violet and woodsmoke on the perfumed nose. Fleshy, palate-coating dark berry flavors pick up cracked pepper and floral pastille qualities with airy. Finishes smoky and very long, with pliant tannins adding shape to the wine's lush dark, clinging fruit.
Bright violet color. Deeply pitched but lucid black and blue fruit scents are complemented by suggestions of pipe tobacco, olive and black pepper. Weighty and broad in the mouth, offering plush boysenberry and candied plum flavors lifted by juicy acidity. A smoky note comes up on the finish, which is framed by smooth, slowly building tannins.
Opaque ruby. Heady aromas of dark berries, smoky minerals and incense are lifted by a suggestion of black pepper. Sweet, dense and seamless on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, with juicy acidity giving focus to the sweet plum jam and blueberry flavors. A smoky note builds in the glass and carries through a long, juicy finish that's framed by smooth, slow-building tannins. This suave wine is surprisingly approachable but clearly has the material for aging.
Inky ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes ripe cherry, blackcurrant, incense and vanilla, with a smoky mineral nuance adding vivacity. Stains the palate with intense dark berry preserve and licorice flavors, with mocha and vanilla notes adding sweetness. Smoothly blends power and vivacity and finishes very long and sappy, with velvety tannins coming up to add shape and grip.
